Will 2 7 pounders take longer that 1 7 pounder in a #3

I have done several pork butts over the last few years but never 2 at a time. Will the time be about the same for 2 as it is for 1? Do you use about the same amount of wood?

No need to increase the amount of wood. As far as time required, monitor each butt. If you cannot fit both on the same rack, offset one above the other left and right.

thank you Sarge. I think they will both fit on one rack!

Each butt will smoke in the normal time as though you were only doing 1 butt. The wood requirement would be the same as for one butt. Follow Sarge's advice on temping each butt as they may not finish at the exactly the same time (although they should be close). Enjoy!
