Wheel Brakes?

I've tried flipping the wheel brake every which way I can think of and it doesn't seem to lock the wheels.  Is it supposed to be difficult?  I've tried vertical turning it forward and vertical flipping it back.

Okay, I'm sure I've tried that but will try it again.  I, like you, pull and push my smoker about 3' from its normal resting spot for each smoke.

If that does not work, there must be a problem with the wheel.

Same as Greg, I push the ON side down toward the ground to lock the wheel.  I have the two locking wheels on the front of the smoker (each side of the door).

Pretty sure mine is "On" in the up position to lock (step on the Down side).  Took me awhile to figure out it's backwards... ???

This makes me laugh which is a good thing, but this is not rocket science!

Pick up the smoker, if to heavy leverage with a piece of wood.

Rotate wheel.... push the lock down, spin wheel if wheel spins push the lock the other way.... If wheel still spins, you have a bad lock for the wheel.

I'm just sayin'

Yeah...the whole "pick up the smoker" thing...yeah...probably why it took me so long to figure it out!  Violates my Lazy Q lifestyle! ;)

my wheels used to lock.  they stopped working.
just take a socket wrench and tighten the nut on each wheel's axle 1/4" at a time until it works again.

for the record, mine lock when "ON" is up (step on "OFF" to engage brake).
