Thermometer - What is 'BBQ'

I'm new to smoking and I just bought a used #2. I'm looking to buy a remote thermometer. I want a basic 2 probe unit that can monitor the smoker air temp and a meat temp. The website for some products say a 2 probe unit can be used to monitor 2 meats or 2 'BBQs'. What do they mean when they say the probes can be used to monitor 'BBQ'? What Is 'BBQ'? Is it the same as the air temp in a smoker? Their descriptions are so inconsistent... some say 'smoker', some say 'BBQ'... I can't figure it out. What is 'BBQ'?

Just het a basic meat thermometer like you would use in an oven. The probe goes in the meat and connects to the monitor on the outside of the smoker. Some units take multiple probes for monitoring the meat temp of several cuts. You can also get a unit that will measure the smoker or grill temp as well as meat temp. Pretty much up to your preference.

I currently use the Thermoworks SMOKE thermometer that has one probe for the box temp and one for the meat. It is usually about $100, but it looks like it might be on sale right now. I really like this product. https://www.thermoworks.com/smoke/

I have also used the Maverick ET-72 (I think), which is less expensive. I had issues with the emp probe wires on this product and switched to the SMOKE several years ago.

There are also a number of products now that work with a phone app for monitoring temps.

Thank you swthorp and old sarge. I got sidetracked but I'm back at this and ordered the SMOKE. It seems Maverick doesn't make those models anymore.
