3.5 Wi-fi

I recently purchased a 3.5 pro series,but I cannot get the Wi-Fi connected and my router does 2.4 / 5. My other devices are 2.4 and have no problem connecting, but I cannot keep my smoker connected more than five seconds. Is there something I need to do different?
