A few days ago, one of our members posted his version useing 4" pvc & the below indicated fan. It was piggybacked to another post that I could not relocate. I invite you to add it to this post to consolidate information. I couldn't get the fan to fit in the pvc cap so I came up with another option.

AC Infinity AXIAL 8038, Quiet... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009OXTWZI?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I have the SI Jerky dryer and enjoy the results. Like all things SI I believe it to be overbuilt. I know folks can get by with less. If the SI is too high a price point or you enjoy building stuff I recommend following the examples posted here and elsewhere in the forum.

I have the James Jerky Dryer as well & have used it to the point where it is becoming finicky (from an electrical perspective).  This is a very good replacement or back up, in my case.  Also, very cheap & easy to build for those with time on their hands (I'm retired & currently acting maintenance man, yard boy & cook for my girls). I need to get back to cooking.....
