For those of you interested in BBQ, the king has put out a new book:
Franklin Barbecue: A Meat-Smoking Manifesto
http://www.amazon.com/dp/1607747200/?tag=mh0b-20&hvadid=7006649444&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_82gsurm92w_e

This is from Franklin Barbecue in Austin. It's a great read.
The first recipe is on page 147, the first 3/4 of his book is all about technique.

Cant wait until the book is out of backorder status.

You could always buy the kindle version.

Also if you go to Amazon you will see that it is in stock from Bookseller USA out of Illinois.

I just received my book and my little guy.  In my 51 years on this earth,  I've eaten at some of the best places in the world, but never really learned to cook, smoke or grill.  So I bought the Book and Model 1 and I'm going to task this weekend.....

It won't take long to get up to BBQ pitmaster status with the SI smoker!  Lots of good advice and recipes can be found throughout the forum boards, and don't hesitate to post questions!  Cheers

Just got done reading this book.... very much enjoyed it. Judging by the book and the videos I have seen, Aaron seems like a humble and down to earth guy not letting success go to his head.

I checked an if anyone is interested you can get the electronic version from Ibooks, if you have an Mac or iPad.
Just curious Bobby. in the book does he say what temp he smokes his Brisket at?

250 degrees.. 1 hr - 1hr 15 mins per pound.... using post oak for wood,  here is a video link of him doing a cook on one and detailing his process.

Starting on page 147 of his book  he gives a detailed breakdown of his process of cooking Brisket (was a very good read).
He also covers ribs and turkey. The book is well laid out.

That book got me started in BBQ. It taught me the basics and really good theory. It's going to all my meat loving friends for Xmas!
