Cherry Cola Sauce

48 oz. Cherry Coke
2 cups Cherry Jam or Preserves
2/3 cup Dijon Mustard w/ Horseradish
3 tbls Soy Sauce
2 tbls Malt or Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tbls Hot Pepper Sauce

Boil cola and simmer.
Reduce to 1.5 cups (or about 60 minutes).
Stir in all other ingredients.
Reduce heat to low-medium (for about 45 minutes).
NOTE: If whole cherries remain put sauce in blender.

This looks delicious!  I like the fact that there are real cherries.  I will be trying it for sure!

A friend of mine makes an awesome root beer sauce that I love too. I'll try to dig up that recipe and get it on here.

Sounded really good, but you lost me at horseradish... :'(  I'd definitely have to eliminate that for a modification.  Just me, though - can't stand horseradish!  Wife loves it though...go figure!

Post the root beer sauce... I'd like to add that to my repertoire (sp?).

re: horseradish: I only like it plain on easter ham sandwiches, nothing else. I too was put off by the notion of horseradish but only after reading the recipe.... when tasting it on my ribs I had no idea it was in there. That said, I may just go with plain dijon mustard (w/o horseradish) and see if that changes anything.

Hmmm.  May have to re-think the horseradish, Steve!  If it's masked, but adds to the flavor profile, I might give it a shot!  Thanks!

Seriously I appreciate any feedback.

That said the mustard Dijon with horseradish... That really buries it deep in the flavor profile as you say.

This recipe is idiot proof. Really is a hit.
