Wet Wood

Are you guys soaking your wood before placing it in the smoker?  I have been watching youtube videos and seems everyone is soaking wood and then burning it.  I have so far only placed dry wood in the burn box.

No on the soaking.  Soaking wood on wets the outside of the wood and does not penetrate into the wood.  I keep my wood chunks in a Tupperware sealed container and I add a wet rag in a baggie to add moisture to the container (sort of like a humidor).  So far this is working for me to keep the wood somewhat moist.

No on the soaking. I just keep mine in a Ziploc bag and haven't needed any added moisture for my wood yet.
