Vacuum seal wood chunks?

In one of these posts, someone said they vacuum seal the wood chunks to preserve the moisture content. Anyone else try this? I assume it would work, but do u think it would affect chance of mold growing? (Since ur normally supposed to keep the wood with good air flow)

I'm asking, because I'd like to order a larger amount of wood chunks, since price is better, but they said the wood could dry out, if I take a long time to go thru it.

I store my wood in sealed containers, in the shade on the north (cold) side of my house. If your wood becomes bone dry, you can refresh it with a piece of clay flower pot that has been soaked in water and placed in your wood container; much like a humidifier for a cigar or tobacco humidor. A simple process.

Thanks for the tip! I assume it would be fine to just store it in my basement? It's cool, and dry. (Half of it is finished, never has had mildew or anything)
