Ordered my #1

Well I ordered my #1 this morning, hope I did it right. After sitting on the fence for 2 months thought I better get it done before the Tarriff's make it to costly.

Was trying to save up for a #2 but exchange on $$$ and duty and Tariff's this is all ready above what I thought I could afford.  The wife may have me sleeping with the #1 once she see's the bill.

Congrats Hank and welcome to the family!  Just nail a brisket (easy to do) and your wife will approve...  assuming she's not vegan.  :)  And don't sweat it that you got the #1 instead of #2...  it's a nice to have and definitely not a have to have.

I just checked on your link where forum members are located just wondering when I will show up in Canada??

That's a little hobby project I put together and manually maintain.  Just give me enough info to locate you (your town is fine, not home address) on Google maps and I'll get it added.

Road trip in the morning for wife and I to Oroville  Wash. to pick up my super smoker.  Hope I can sleep tonight. ;D ;D

So how was your cross border road trip?
The trip was great, the US boarder man was more interested in the smoker than any thing. His Dad has a Bradley and he wants a smoker asked me lots and then wrote the name Smokin-it down.  On the way back Canada wanted $74.25 for me to give them. :( :(

All I know is that every one that lives in the US gets a great deal... My #1 with a cover, extra self and 2 Tee shirts cost me $706.98 Canadian....  I better be able to do some awesome smoking or else I will be sleeping in the garage beside my smoker.  On the plus side on the way home bought the wife some flowers for the garden she wanted ;) ;)

Pay once Cry once  I hope..

Wow that's a high price to pay for a new smoker...flowers for the wife!!!! LOL
I am usually required to do fair trade outs with my wife 00

Enjoy!

I was expecting that price, it just hurts :( so that is one of the reasons for a #1 and not a 2.  Building a cabinet for it now, have to season and try out on the weekend. ;) ;)

Congrats on getting your #1. Have a great weekend of smoking and remember it's only money. Think of the money you will save not eating out.

A question here  For Fathers day I am going to do Pork back Ribs I received a flavor saver box when I got my smoker can I put apple juice in it and how much ??  Costco Ribs 9 to 10 lbs.  Got my pwn Rub on them and Ribs in Fridge.

Hank - Yes, you can put apple juice in it.  Or beer! How much? That is pretty much up to you.  But I would say 8 to 12 ounces should be plenty. And good luck with the ribs!

Keep notes on meat, time, temp, weather/temp, type and quantity by weight of wood used. From there you can make adjustments, if needed, and fine tune the results to avoid disappointing smokes and repeat the successful ones.
