Greek Beans in Red Sauce - Fasolakia

Ingredients
• 1.5 lbs – 2 lbs fresh green beans, trimmed cut into mouth size pieces (you can also use frozen)
• 1 T tablespoons lemon juice
• 1 small sweet onion, chopped (around 1 cup)
• 1 T olive oil
• 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes
• 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
• ½- t Greek Oregano
• ½ t basil
• 1 t brown sugar
• 1/8 t ground pepper
• 1 t minced garlic
• ½ t ground fennel (optional)

Directions
1. Heat olive oil in 3 qt pan over medium heat; add the onion, garlic, and onion stir and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

2. Next place the rest of the ingredients into the pan (cover, but leave the lid cracked) cook for cook 30 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sauce starts to thicken. Final step add the green beans and cook for an additional 30 minutes or until desired tenderness.

 
That sounds good, printed it.  I did green beans in the smoker, in a cast pan, evoo, basil, garlic.  Turned out well.

Never thought about this in the smoker......

I bet it would be great, not sure on the smoke time.
