Gen 1 Wi-Fi Controller (2019): Won’t Stay Connected, Drops to Slow Blink

My Gen 1 Wi-Fi controller has worked flawlessly since 2019, but recently it refuses to stay connected.

• After reset: fast blink for pairing.
• Sometimes bails after ~10 sec back to slow blink.
• Sometimes stays fast blinking but app spins/times out.
• Rarely connects, but drops to slow blink within minutes.

I’ve tried re-pairing dozens of times, 2.4 GHz WPA2 only, strong signal, no client isolation, multiple reset methods.

Once this morning I got it connected, but the app only showed stale data while the smoker slow-blinked (no Wi-Fi).

Has anyone else seen this after years of perfect service? Known fix or is the module dying? Really hoping to avoid $420 for a new controller.
