Bacon Candy - Sweet with a bit of heat

I decided to try Chris Lilly bacon rub today. Lightly coated both side of the bacon with the rub, placed on a rack in the oven at 400 degrees for about 20-25 minutes.

The bacon turned out great, sweet with a bit of heat. Next time I will foil line a pan and then put a piece of parchment paper down better putting the bacon on (will make cleanup easier). Also, it could yet a bit more heat....

Recipe:
1/2 cup sugar
2 T chili powder
1/2 t. ground cumin
1/2 t. cayenne pepper
1/2 t. sea salt

Makes about 2/3 cup, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to six months.

Hey John,

I made a sample batch and was planning to share with a fellow friend and smoker down the street, but it tasted to good.

For this batch I used store bought bacon, but I have some smoked bacon I did and will try that next.
