OK. I ran a test today. Temp up to 225 in 30+ minutes and good smoke. About 90 minutes out both windows on controller went to "end"' Looks like my time setting is wrong. need to set for longer time. Temp was holding good but will check setting when I reset the time. Does this seem reasonable?
when I say "smoke" I am referring to the actual smoking process. For whatever reason the temp drops during the smoking prcess three hours in on six hour smoke and I have to play the the setting to get heat back up to 325..Sometimes higher, sometimes lower. Have to calculate time and some average...
I have model 2D and have smoked several racks of ribs. Yesterday I smoked six racks and the ribs on the lower shelf were burned/heavily charred on the bottom. Shelf was placed about mid way in the box. Any idea as to what happened here? Have never had this happen before. Unit set at 235 degrees...
Understand that this model has 30# capacity. Wanting to smoke nine racks; most I have done is six. Can you stack racks on top of each other or is smoke going to be uneven? Should I be using upright rack holders that sit on the shelves?
Also, does the smoke time stay the same; about 6 hours at...
#2 smoker. Meaty loin backs - three racks - 235 degrees at 5.5 hours. Thicker loin not finished while thinner meat portions just right. Afraid to cook longer or hotter for fear of overdoing portions.
Any ideas. Meat from Sam's Club. Approx. 10 pounds.
All outdoor outlets wired to GCFI outlets. Unit trip GCFI's after ten minutes or so. Any ideas. Once plugged into non GCFI outlet (indoors) unit works fine but the mrs. not big fan of smoke filling up house with door ajar. Can't understand that but need a fix.
About two hours in temp spiked to 250 from setting of 225. Instructions indicated that smoke hole should be covered. This does not make sense so I uncovered hole and temp fell back to setting temp. Am I missing something about smoke hole.
OK - usually I smoke two racks at a time and use the top two racks. Needing to smoke at least three racks and not sure if I can use the lower rack nearest the heat element without overcooking/burning the ribs. If I should not use the lower rack, can I stack racks of ribs on top of each other on...
