A friend gave me a nice sized limb off his apple tree. About 2" in diameter at the thickest point. Need some suggestions on getting it ready for the smoker. I am thinking I will strip off the bark and slice into 1" thick discs on the band saw. Does that sound about right?

I am picking up a 3D in a couple weeks, and I am getting a place ready for it on my deck. I am building a short table top for it to set on. I want to get it off the ground so it is easier to load and unload, but I don't know how high I can make the table and still see the PID. Do you need to be...
