    Smoked beef heart?

Anyone have experience with smoking cow's heart?  I really like the stuff sautéed/braised for breakfast.  I get it from a farm booth at the farmer's market that has it already sectioned into pieces that are on average a bit less than a pound, IIRC.  (I don't have one for reference because I ate...

Operator error! Smoker abuse trigger warning

I am an idiot.  I pulled a chicken out of my Model 2 at 9 PM and while wrapping it up forgot to unplug the smoker, so it ran all night with the door wide open, about 12 hours. In the morning the heating element was still glowing, so that's good.  How bad is it that it ran constantly for so long?

    smoking with yard waste

A few days ago, I pruned some 1" to 2" diameter branches off my cherry tree.  Can I use fresh wood like that for smoking?  Does the bark need to be peeled off first?

    amps and ground fault question

I received my Model 2 a few days ago and tried to season it this morning.  The outlet on the outside of my garage is a GFCI type.  It tripped twice, the first time after getting hot enough to produce quite a bit of smoke (ran for 10 or 15 minutes, I think) and the second time after a minute or...
