How do I remove the power cord?

I went to start up my smoker a couple months ago, flipped the switch, and nothing...no lights, no heat, nothing. I'm not an electrical person at all so I don't know how to troubleshoot electrical issues. A friend of mine can over and narrowed the problem to a bad power cord, and I have a new one...

    Brisket done too soon...

I got a 10# packer brisket today and did a bit of trimming...didn't cut off a whole lot, so I estimate final weight was about 8.5 lbs.  Put it in a cold smoker at 1am, set it for 230°...and much to my surprise, my Maverick started ringing at 430am...I let it go for a bit because there's no way...

    4-day Chuck Roast

Well, my chuck roast has been in the water bath at 135* for four days...time to go home, take it out, get a sear on it, and dig in tonight!  I hope it turns out as great as everyone says.  Thanks for all the tips too.  I'll update with pics shortly (as soon as I get some).

Getting Smoke Started for Low-temp Smoking

So I'm trying to smoke some garlic at about 180*-190* (and the temp outside is below freezing, so the box is starting out pretty cold).  I'm having a hard time getting the smoke started before it's time to pull the garlic because it's done.  I have a #3D (so it's supposed to have tight temp...

First smoke in #3D - Ribs and Pork Burnt Ends

Picked up my new #3D last weekend, seasoned it twice this week (just to make sure it had a good coating of creosote, I guess), and picked up what seems like a half a hog yesterday.  Foiled the floor and top of the smoker box with foil, put in 5 oz of hickory (from SmokinLicious) and set it for 6...
