Cooler Corn?
« on: May 24, 2019, 10:11:19 PM »
Anybody ever heard of this and or cooked any corn in a cooler? Would love to hear of your experience in detail.

I've heard of it but never done it; something about boiling water poured over corn in a plastic or abs or whatever petro-chemical concoction they are made of just seems wrong on several levels. But it is a novel idea for feeding a large crowd. Now, a really huge granite ware covered roaster full of corn  bathing in boiling water and set in a cooler seems more appealing.

Yep, for a large gathering is for certain what got my attention. I’ll will research what my Cambro is made of. Never done it but they say standing on its end it makes an excellent ice chest. Nothing to to with healthy cooler corn, but it just came to mind anyway.

Your the first I know of that’s even heard of it!

Sort of a poor mans attempt at rudimentary sous vide.  Almost!
