No Longer A Lurker
« on: December 27, 2019, 12:21:49 PM »
Good afternoon everyone.  My name is Jonathan but I go by J to almost everyone around me.  I am from the Western New York area, just outside of Buffalo.

After many many years, I am no longer just a lurker.  My awesome wife, daughter, parents, sister and brother-in-law all chipped in to buy me a model #2 as a Christmas present.  I am extremely excited to start on this journey and the last two days have been filled with trying to figure out a decent thermometer and what to cook after I get the initial setup steps out of the way.

Through my time lurking here, I have come to appreciate the camaraderie and helpful hints of many of you on here despite not having a smoker myself.  I can't wait to get to business with my new toy.
Jonathan but go by J.
Model #2 as of Christmas 2019 thanks to Wife, Daughter, Parents, Sister and Brother-in-Law

You'll love your #2, I recently got a #1 and the biggest problem I've had is getting used to how little wood it takes to get the desired level some in these units.  Six or seven smokes in and everything has come out excellent.
