Screen use

I am seasoning my new 3D today. I have a screen for the firebox since I have a lot of wood chips remaining from my old smoker. Does it matter if I use the screen while using wood chunks in the future? Thanks!

I have a Model 3 and leave my chip screen in all the time. It seems to be very helpful in preventing the dreaded belch.
