Hello from Seattle! Question on prime rib and turkey
« on: December 19, 2018, 11:25:16 PM »
Hello I am Jumbo and I’m new to the forum. I have spent quite a bit of time enjoying my model 3D,  with a few rounds of pulled pork and a couple Thanksgiving turkeys under my belt.
I am planning to do smoked prime rib for Christmas this year and would also like to do a turkey at the same time.  does anyone have any advice on doing a prime rib and a turkey at the same time in the smoker??

I’ll be curious to see if anyone has any suggestions for you.  I’ve done both but never at the same time.  I usually smoke turkey at 250 and prime rib at 200 degrees which seems like your biggest challenge.  Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

I've never done a mixed load like that.  Turkeys get done fast enough that I wouldn't choose to do it with anything else.
