I am in the same position in North Dakota. The smoker can handle getting to temp without problem. But, I just don't have the motivation to go outside and smoke in these type of temps.

Rival/Oster has a smoker toaster oven. A fellow at work has one and brings it in for pot luck. Does a fairly decent job. You can park it on your stove under your vent hood and let it rip.

I've got one of those and it works well enough that I was surprised. I've done a few chickens and a couple turkey breasts in it.
