Title: Pakstat I Electronic Temperature Control
Post by: cantonn11 on February 14, 2022, 09:56:21 PM
Would it be possible replace the analog temperature controller on the analog smokin it units with the Pakstak I electronic temperature controller for a narrower temperature swing?  I have posted a link to another forum showing the replacement of a temperature controller in a Smokin It unit to give an idea of the space and mounting inside the unit.

Before the digital PID was incorporated into the smokers, SI sold the stand alone auber units and many people bought them so they could get tighter temp control; also they could disconnect and store the controller indoors.  Some also incorporated a bypass switch so that they could switch from analog to PID and back again.  In that way, should the PID fail, they still had analog functionality. Maybe this will help you.  9 pages of info and pictures. You can also use the search function for Auber Bypass; Controller Bypass, etc.
