Title: turkey smoking question

in this type of smoker (the 3d) is it best or does it even matter how you orient the turkey for smoking
laying down or propped up vertically? is either way better does it matter at all?

I did a turkey today as a matter of fact.  I lay the whole bird on its back with the breast facing the door.
