Sudden higher temps
«

My first three smokes I was a little concerned that the highest temp I could reach (according to my Maverick) was 226. I had resigned myself to making do with perhaps longer cooking times. Then on my cook yesterday I just turned the control up all the way as previous and the in a short while the Maverick was registering registering 277 degrees! While I'm pleased by the suddenly available extra temp I'm perplexed by the sudden change. Anyone else had this experience?

Hmmm ... did you happen to record a low point? And were you setting the smoker at 250 or a lower temp when you saw this spike?

Had it maxed out as doing so only produced highs in the 220's range previously. Will be cooking some ribs today so will see how it does.
