Looking for knowledge...
« on: November 01, 2019, 11:35:42 PM »
There is a possibility that I might be moving to the San Jose, CA area by the end of the year.  Does anyone know what the laws and culture are like there...  will I be able to use my smoker or should I try to sell it while I'm still in smoker country?

Larry - I know there are a lot of restrictions i California.  I was stationed there 73 -77.  It wasn't too bad then but today it is a vastly different culture. And much more expensive.  I would check with the local San Jose government offices regarding smoking and BBQ as well as hunting and any other activities you enjoy that MIGHT have an impact on the neighborhood you are going to live in as well as the environment.  The last thing you or anyone needs is a neighbor who does not share or tolerate your lifestyle or a neighborhood that has covenants that deny you your right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  Good luck!

I posted on Reddit in their Smoking sub and got assured by many in the area that they're common and allowed, so I'll be planning to bring mine with me.  :)

Larry - Here is an article from Sierra Club.  It deals with going all electric versus gas in your home.  San Jose is listed:
