Pork Picnic
« on: June 08, 2021, 12:35:44 AM »
Does anyone ever smoke a picnic roast?  Pork butts are a lot of meat for two.  I’ve braised them in different ways with great results.  Picnics are often sold in smaller sizes.  Anyone smoke these?

I've done a couple picnics.  I didn't care for the results.  At least not for pulled pork.  Some say those work well if you are going to slice it.  I've never cooked and sliced one myself.  I stick to the bone in Boston Butts for pulled pork.  The leftovers re-heat nicely later if you vacuum seal and freeze them.
