3D seasoning cycle- what am i doing wrong
« on: April 30, 2016, 06:01:44 PM »

NEW RELATED QUESTION SEE THIRD POST - THANKS

ok, I followed the directions exactly. I have it at 250 and 2 hours. ( I had it at 4 and it seemed to stop at 3. I had something set wrong ) so I figured I would try again.

this time the screen is supposed to show temp and time right? what I am seeing is temp (250 ) instead of time I am seeing -H-. the first time it didn't show 4 hours although the setting showed that. it seemed to show .2 and .7 when I looked at it. like it was accumulating to 4 hours.

so what did I do wrong ? if I look at time it does say 4 hours in the T- screen. the temp is showing it even though the pic does not.
whats with the H?

You did nothing wrong per say. The H means the controller was looking for the probe. Cycle till you get the t for time. Except for the temp and time all else should be zeros. Use the + and - for that.

Have your instructions handy. You will get used to it after a while.

I have been using the 3D succesfully for a while now.
Last time when cooking ribs, i set it to t and set the hours. it still however gave me the -H- code.  I stuck the meat probe into the box and measured the box temp. this worked.
should i have to do this? or if on Time, i shouldn't need the probe?

I dont recall if the box temp went up with the error code showing but am i just supposed to run it with the -H- showing?

Sarge said said it by time, but it was. i cycled all through and did not see another  heat time set for anything but zero ( i mean C-2 through C-6)

thoughts?

Tom,

When the H shows, and you have programmed and set cooking for time, just push the time button and the 't' will appear on the screen.
