Welcome from Delaware, Curt. I have a #2 and smoked a 12lb turkey with no problems. If it fits in your #1, I think you should be fine. If you have not bought one yet, you might try going on the lower end of 12lb or under. I probed the breast to finish at 170IT and smoked at 235-240ish. I don't recall the time, but I think it should finish around 4 hours. Some resting time is also helpful. I like cherry wood for poultry, but that's just my preference.
