Breaking in a 3D
« on: December 06, 2018, 08:04:58 PM »
I finally bit the bullet and ordered a 3D with WIFI. I started smoking on a offset grill/smoker I built 20 years ago. Got lazy and went to chip boxes on Weber gas grill, so I could at least control temp easily and not tend a fire. I was never satisfied with the flavor. So I'm seasoning my 3D now while it's 30F outside. I'm sitting in my warm house, watching smoke waft out the top smoker, and my app tells me the temp is 250F. Life is good. Hope to get a butt on this weekend and really try it out.

Welcome to Smokin-It.  You'll enjoy smoking in all weather. Just keep the rain off it. I smoked salmon today, a balmy 16 degrees outside.
