I recently bought model #1 and I love it.  I smoked some salmon with alder and sugar maple and invited my friends over to try it -- they said it was the best smoked salmon they've ever had. I used the Ink-Bird IBT 4XS to monitor the salmon temp.

I really like all the user tips and comments in the forums. They're very helpful.
