Does the model 4 come standard with the Auber PID and does the Auber have an automatic hold temperature set point?

Hey There, yes the #4 some with the Auber. And you can program it for multiple points in your smoking. I normally use about 3 or 4 steps. I would say yes you can hold the temp. + or - 1 degree on your smoking temp. For instance say you are smoking ribs at 225 degrees. You will see on the Auber that it will hold at 225. Does this answer your question. I might also suggest that you get a permanent wall mount probe. And do a bypass there are very good instructions on this forum for this. Good luck with your #4.

When talking about a hold temperature, are you referring to a lower keep warm temperature AFTER your meat has reached the desired internal temperature or the set cook time has expired?

I too was confused by his second question Dave. About the hold temp. no but you can program one in. Say your Internal temp. was 195 and the Auber sensed this. In your program the next step would be to set the box temp to 140 for x amount of hours. This is a safe temp. to hold meat until you can take the meat from the smoker. Also would be nice if you could add your name and city to the signature line in your profile. As we are a friendly bunch here and like to use names and know who we are talking with.

To expand on the programming just a bit, there are 6 programs available.  Each one can either be controlled by time or meat temperature.  So, specific to your question, program #1 would set cook temperature and a desired internal meat temperature.  Once those parameters are met, it kicks to program #2.  Program #2 would change cook temperature to the afore mentioned 140 for some set period of time.  Once you set your programs, you go about your day and come back to ready smoked food.

Hey John last year had to get mine inspected b/4 renewing the license. While at the dealership I noticed the Ultra limited, that is a nice bike and fully loaded. But, the price was more than my house and the wife said forget it.  :-\  :'(
