Beef pies - comfort food 101

As we slip into Winter, here are a couple ideas for some delicious comfort food.
Consider smoked pot pie or smoked shepherds pie. Meat filling is smoked chuck roast, smoked gravy from drippings and your choice of assorted veggies. For the shepherds pie, I made a batch of horseradish mashed potatoes and put pie back in the smoker for about 30 minutes.

I see what you did there Walt. I wonder how many people remember SDO.

I was a big fan of SDO, Walt, and seeing recipes like this make me a fan of the new SuperDave!
I suspect those were done in his previous smoker, since his #4 is in the mail.

Hard to believe he can smoke, he should be on a ventilator or a box the way his appendages hung after each show.

How did you smoke the chuck roast to get the drippings for the gravy?
