first smoked turkey

Hello everyone im going for the first time smoking a turkey. Just put it in as 5mins ago and see what happens, the turkey is just a small bird about 6 to 7 pound. will show pics of the bird when done. ;D

Very cool ... did you brine the bird before smoking or just put a rub on it?

sorry about that i forgot to put that in Yes i brined it and try a new rub, I'm using Jeff philips rub,

I'm waiting to hear the results - never done a turkey before, but want to!  Sounds like a winning plan!

here are the pics of the turkey, sorry about the wait, it took for ever for the turkey to reach 165F and for out my smoker only goes up to a temp of 240.

It was the juiciest turkey I have ever eat, live this smoker. Trying a pork loin next week if the weather holds up :)

I'm gonna have to do a turkey now, Rob!  My only problem is fitting one in a #1!  I could probably do about a 12 lb bird, but that would be it.  This is inching me toward upgrading to a #2 or 3! ;)
