Has anyone tried this?  In smoker or on the grill.

I've seen, but have never used!  I was wondering how long they last, and just how much salt it imparts in what you cook on it.  Seems to me, adding salt, before cooking, is more controllable.  If the food cooks on a salt surface, will it be too salty?  Inquiring minds want to know! ;)
