Anova Precision Cooker Nano $80
« on: July 07, 2018, 01:35:55 PM »
Anova Precision Cooker Nano is offered @ $99 and can be had fo $80 at Best Buy using a discover card (20% off 1 small appliance) but at 750 watt is it underpowered?

Option is the wifi model @ 900 watt and $159 direct from Avona

I love a bargain and I'm leaning toward the Nano but would hate to buy it and find it to be an underperformer!

Comments welcome.  :-\

I am sure it would be fine.  I have an old bluetooth model, and it is, I think, 800 watts. Works fine.  750 watts might take a few minutes longer to heat the water from room temperature, but not dramatically so I wouldn't think, but once at temp should have no issues maintaining.

Thanks David & Eric for the feedback.. More reading and more head scratching. This review seems the best so far. 900w WiFi model heats bath nearly twice as fast as 800w Bluetooth model and uses less than half the power in a long cook(12 hour). Very efficient and I like that a bunch. The Joule is even more efficient  and I am giving it serious consideration even though it lacks controls and indicators on the device.  The quest continues and Amazon prime days may be helpful as I have time.
