I can't even remember what I paid for mine, but that seems like a pretty good deal.

Woot seems to do this half-a-dozen times per year.  Seem to be very popular on another forum I belong to,

Be careful with Woot on this type of item... I bought one of these (new, not Woot) and have been really unhappy with it.  I feel like I wasted my money and will end up buying a real slicer in the future.  There are so many on Woot because that is how many returns they end up with.

Woot does sell a lot of items with just a woot warranty, not the manufacturersand I to would be very cautious.  But I take your point and it is a valid one.  If I needed to use the slicer every day, I too would look for something more on the commercial side, belt driven. As for the slicer, I have the 665 and it works well for me but certainly not in the class of a large commercial unit slinging a 10 or 12 in blade. I just don't push it hard.  My old Rival still works well, but for some cuts the blade was too small at 6 inches.

Wal Mart is selling the LEM 10 Slicer at a pretty decent price, 5 year warranty.  List price is $429.99. Walmart has it for $244.53.
