Title: Paella
Post by: barelfly on February 14, 2021, 08:58:14 AM
Anyone on the board make paella? I know it’s not something we would use the Smokin-it for, but I know we all have other cookers. I made a Paella last night, although - had to resort to the stove top and oven due to the damn wind! Was gusting over 30mph yesterday afternoon/evening, so inside paella for the first time. Turned out great but was missing that hint of smoke from the charcoal fire.

Then, to boot, woke up to some snow here at our lake house, which doesn’t happen often. Hoping everyone north is doing ok with the weather.

Jeremy, Your Paella looks great. Sometimes the weather just won’t cooperate. You are right about the hint of smoke. It really does add another depth of flavor. I have a cowboy grille/fire pit. I cook the Paella over a wood fire. It is a little work but well worth it.

Paul,

Would love to see some photos of that cowboy grille someday! Especially when you do some paella!

Jeremy, as soon as we get a break in this weather I will get some pictures of the grill posted. Tonight it’s going to get down to -7 and we have 8” of snow, and more coming tomorrow. I’m looking forward to some nice weather so I can get back out there and fire it up.
