Title: Smoke Generator
Post by: Jhrol2862 on January 09, 2021, 11:08:51 AM
Reading through instructions I see a setting a “socket” on or off setting for the smoke generator.  I have the 4D WiFi.  What does this control?  Should it be on or off and why?  Thanks.

Can you be more specific?  I am not sure where the word socket is coming from; cannot find it in the smoke generator FAQ or in the descriptions of either of the smoke generators.  Are you talking about the generators sold by Smokin-it or some other company? Maybe a legible photo of the page from the instructions would help us.  Or a link to the site where you read this.

It is instruction #14 in the digital WiFi model user guide and instructions.
Instruction #14 refers to the relay action (smoke generator output socket status).

The SI smoke generators are NOT controlled by the digital controller.  The SI controllers are built by Auber and I believe Auber developed the original digital controller for the Bradley smokers which needed to be programmed to drop pucks and generate smoke.  I could be wrong.  So you may want to query Steve via email on this question.
