Do Masks Work?
« on: August 01, 2020, 09:21:36 PM »
Lots of controversy or arguments along political lines as to whether wearing a cheap throw away surgical mask works in slowing the spread of the covid 19 virus.  Maybe this video will help folks decide yes or no.  I can tell you that where I live they are mandatory.  Most folks comply; some do not.  Anyway, enjoy the video.

My buddy here has family in Arizona and know they had trouble getting hand sanitizer, masks, and gloves down there. Shipped them a 10 lb box about two months ago. Hope the supply chain is back to normal down there soon.

They have made them mandatory here as well. Lots of locals making cloth masks and selling them on etsy.

Except for lysol spray and similar, many stores now have masks and hand sanitizer.  And they have long since recovered from and restocked that all important upper respiratory commodity:  toilet paper!

Lol. Yeah. the picture of people at Costco with shopping carts full of TP was something to behold. The masks aren't so bad. You get used to them. Still looks weird though.

Seeing as this hideous virus is still spreading I though I would share this analogy about how masks work.

First, you need to understand that you wear a mask mostly to protect others, and to a lesser extent, yourself. Most people who get the virus are not aware that they have it.

Imaging two guys facing each other and they have no pants (or underpants) on.
If guy #1 pees, guy #2 gets a wet leg.
If guy #2 puts on pants and guy #1 pees, guy #2 gets wet pants and some pee may get through to his leg.
If guy #1 puts and pants and pees, his pants get wet but guy #2 stays dry.
If they BOTH have pants on, they are BOTH safe !!!

The point is: You may not know you have the virus so do the right thing to protect others and WEAR A MASK !!!
