Went to smoke a pork butt today here in snowy SE Ohio. My Masterbuilt went to 176 and then died. Tired of the continued problems and poor quality. Every time I have people over it quits working. Got PO'd and it went into the bed of my hunting truck (85 Silverado 4WD) for a ride to the dump.I ordered a #2 today based largely on the comments on here.

Howdy and an outstanding choice sir!

That, sir, is a nice looking 4x4. Bet it will smoke nicely in your new #2. You will love it I am sure.

Maybe your Masterbuilt will find its way next to mine in a scrapyard somewhere...... Welcome and all the best with the number 2..... you wont be disappointed.

Welcome to the forums. I did the same. I had a Masterbuilt that served me well, but eventually went by the way side. I've had my #2 for about 6 months now and definitely do not regret my decision. I love it and I think you will as well.

My #2 arrived Friday and is unboxed. Already got some wood from Smokinlicious and some Hefty Storage Solutions 15 quart totes to store it in. My Harbor Freight cart should arrive Tuesday. Ordered M10 x150 mm Stainless bolts and washers and nuts from McMaster-Carr fasteners to fasten #2 to the cart. Going to wait until I have it all put together before I season it. Cant wait to use it.
