Gear Lube
« on: February 13, 2019, 06:55:40 PM »
I had a chat with the folks at Chef's Choice regarding lubing the gears on my slicer.  The manual said to use vaseline and I was curious as to which grade.  The rep said it did not matter and then volunteered the info to use Petrol Gel which is what is used when the slicers are manufactured.  Ordered some from Amazon.

Alright.  But I don't like any of them on ice cream.
They taste oily. Almost like petrolatum.

https://www.amazon.com/PetroGel-Food-Safe-Lubricant-ounce/dp/B01D0DSGCW   also looks like a great candidate

That is what I bought.  Twin pack. Doubtful I will ever run out.
