Never posted here but been a member. I am now in the market for an upgrade for a smoker. I have been using a Weber smokey mountain 22in, for several years for all meats/sausages well except fish. I want to make the jump to electric smoker and really considering the #3 Smokin-it analog. Lots of reading to do and questions to ask.

The #3 was my first Smokin-It and is a good choice. Highly recommend.

Welcome from Central TX. I've got a #2 analog and then later added an Auber. I considered various smokers before deciding "Lazy-Q" was for me. It is so easy to cook just a little if you don't have a crowd coming.

And the digital offers a few more options for you if that jump in price is doable. If I’m not mistaken on the analogs, they still don’t go past 275 on temp, to where as the digital offers upwards of 325 I believe, something that is great for smoking chicken and getting good skin.

But, the #3 is great! I love the sizing of the #3 and what it offers for full racks of ribs and full packer briskets. You can cook these in the smaller sizes as well, just have to do some cutting. Not an issue as my dad has a #2 for just him and my mom.

Either way, you are going to enjoy that smoker!!!!

Welcome from Delaware, Tony!   You have found the right place, lots of good information here.   I have a #2 analog that has worked great for me over several years.    Don't hesitate to ask any questions, and the forum boards are loaded with great information.  Cheers

That temp difference (and programmable) for doing sausage has got me rethinking. But is also quite the price jump. Maybe #analog to start, then add pid if deemed necessary. Still thinking it out, but Im set on the SMOKIN-IT for the one I want.
