I did exactly what divotmaker did and everything went well.  I'm doing my first smoke, a butt, tomorrow.  Love this forum.
The photo?   That's a different kind of smoke.....Terry

Good luck with that first butt, Terry - great choice for the first cook!  You'll see just how well these babies perform on a long smoke like that!  Lots of great ideas/recipes/techniques around here.  With all the new owners help out there, we can grow our little forum into the premiere electric smoker forum!  I love it that everything on here is geared to our smokers, not just "generic" one-size-fits-all info.

I agree Tony, I like how all the suggestions and techniques on this forum apply to our particular type of smoker.
