So Auber will be releasing a new Smokin It app version (v2.4.1_build2175) in the next few days that should resolve this. Good customer service on their part

We got a new internet service and I've had trouble connecting to my SI 5D. Here's what I've done: - disabled 5G service to allow for connecting to smoker - removed smoker from app - added smoker to app using non-5G service. Connected to smoker during setup process, but it then loses connection and won't communicate with smoker.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Ok, thanks Jim. I'm in an e-mail conversation with Auber about it, and I'll post here if it gets figured out. Seems they're telling me it should send a notification to the app screen, as well as a noise/vibrate if the phone is set for that. However, I'm not fully understanding from them yet how that's supposed to work because I get nothing in the app at all while the controller is beeping.

I think I finally solved the problem. At least it's as good as it's going to get. This December things went south again. After that I replaced every wire in the system that had common connections. I used 18 gage insulated solid copper wire. The images show the before and after. It's been good for some time now.
