Title: Modified for UNDER cabinet or a built-in look?
Post by: omgitsjulian on July 13, 2022, 06:48:44 PM
I'm looking at this smoker and really thinking about pulling the trigger.

It feels with some minor modifications you could modify this to look like a built in unit.

Thoughts?

As far as built-in, keep in mind that you need air flow.  Also the PID has a large SSR resembling a heat sink.

I figured I could extend the vent out the back of the island using a dryer vent, and extend the PID controller cables to mount it elsewhere? I saw that heat sync... In your option, what do you think of this solution?

The other thing we do with the top vent on the smoker is drop in the remote temp wires for monitoring the IT of the meat in the smoker and the box temp.   Will you have access to the top vent hole if you want to drop in remote temp probes?
