Title: improvements
Post by: SmokinItInfo on September 30, 2021, 07:56:56 AM
Hello Smokin-It Nation!

I wanted to pass on some new features we have just released.
1. new 2nd generation wifi chip will greatly improve compatibility with mesh type routers and we have added new push notifications.  Available now.
2. new stainless steel rack cleaner.
3. finished new resigned enclosed smoker cabinets with folding shelves.  Hope to have these in Feb. 2022.
4. New camper smoker model is on its way and we hope to have these by the holidays.  We have not come up with a model number for this one yet,  maybe .5???
5. Added a drop in shelve for the smoker carts,  available now.
6. We are working on new Larger Model 6 that will run on 220 volts single phase.  This model will also have a internal fan to help circulate air and help even out temperatures within the smoker.  We are waiting to receive our second prototype for testing.

On another note we are trying our best in these crazy times to continue to have inventory in house to support our customers.  Supply chains are in total disarray with shipping times pushed out to 12 to 14 weeks along shipping charges
increased by 600% from Jan. of this year alone.

Thank all of you for your valued support!  We appreciate it.

Smokin-It team.

Regarding the new chip.  Is that a complete new controller or board that current owners can purchase and upgrade? Just curious.

Definitely curious to see more about this... I hate cleaning my racks.  :)

Hopefully the new WIFI chip works better than the original.

I've been cleaning my racks for years with a trick my wife taught me. She watched me spend 45 min. to clean one rack semi=clean then
told me I was working too hard. My very smart wife put the other 5
racks in a trash bag with a cup of sudsy ammonia, closed it tightly and laid it outside in a box in case it leaked. The next day I could clean them with a damp rag. Safety tip NEVER mix ammonia and bleach!

The new wifi chip is actually on a completely new board.  We hope to be able to offer these as a complete controller replacement in the near future.  This chip allows for better connections with Mesh router systems which was the main problem in the past.

Does anyone know if the Auber AW-WST1510H-W has this new chip, or is it the old one? I've not had any issues with it, and I use it through a wifi range extender to reach my smoker.

Thanks,
Clay
