Had a few guys coming over this weekend and ribs were requested. Rain was in the forecast and we planned to eat around 6:00 PM (half time)..... It's dark here at 4:15 PM.
I started to scramble to come up with something to protect the smoker and provide ample light to see what I was doing. This link is to the cart before my brain storm.

I picked up some PVC....1 1/4 and 1" and a 1 1/4" flange at Home Depot. I mounted the flange on a board that I had made as a work area for the cart and positioned it to provide maximum illumination from a Brookstone grill light. I used the 1" for the vertical in order to hold the shaft of an umbrella which I had cut off the U section. When the PVC is snug the umbrella is position to provide maximum protection to the rear of the smoker when it is backed off it adjusts the light parallel to the front.
Not pretty but functional.

I like it, Al! Great problem solving, on the fly! 8)

not to mention a handy paper towel holder front and center. That is easily the best mod of that particular cart (seems many of us have them) that I've seen yet.
