Logan from Austin

Smoked deliciousness can be extra difficult with 2-person apartment or condo living. That's why I settled on the Smokin-It #1. Seemed to be the perfect size for two (and occasionally more), and we won't get kicked out for an "open flame". Not to mention ease of use for the novice smoker. Smokin-It seemed to have the best reviews and customer service by far (and this forum was a crazy-awesome perk to boot). I'm a firm believer you get what you pay for, so I expect this smoke-let to provide more than its worth in meaty delight.

She's unpacked, coated in a beautiful chocolate patina, and ready for spare ribs tomorrow. I can almost taste them now.

Looking forward to swapping knowledge from y'all pros and novices alike. First question, is it weird to name your smoker like you (ought to) name a car? If not, let me hear yours for inspiration!

Welcome Logan from your neighbor in Taylor! I'm fairly new here too so I don't have much to offer, but this site and these people are the best!

Welcome from a old Waco guy now living in the midwest.

My only advice is to go light on the wood at first.

You can always add more the next cook and it sure beats getting fast food if you oversmoke.............

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, and hello to all my new neighbors.

First smoke turned out great a few weeks ago, forgot to send an update. Did 2 whole racks of spares that fit perfectly (2/3s rack per shelf) and turned out great. Turns out the #1 is plenty big for 2 people, could easily feed a lot more than that.

Today is round 2, looking forward to pulled pork for the game tonight. Go Pack go!
