Excellent resource for Sous Vide
« on: January 26, 2020, 11:46:06 AM »
Hey Guys,
Glad to see so many others also doing Sous Vide here. If you have not checked out Sous Vide Everything on Youtube, you need to check it out.
Guga - the host of the video channel has tons of great videos showing you what works and what does not. It really has taken my Sous Vide to another level. Check it out and let me know what you think.

These guys are awesome!!!

FYI, they also have their own Non-Sous-Vide channels as well where they do a lot of other types of videos such as grilling, instant pot, etc.

Guga's Channel (Guga Foods) - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfE5Cz44GlZVyoaYTHJbuZw
Ninja's Channel (Salty Tails) - https://www.youtube.com/user/kamoiran

Smokin-It #3 (purchased in 2014) that replaced a Masterbuilt XL (ugh) and a 10+ Year-Old Big Chief (still used for fish), and few others over the years, along with variety of Weber Gas/Charcoal Grills, Anova Sous Vide, etc. devices.

They a lot of trial and error so you don't have to and they are fun to watch. Also Ninja who used to be on the videos is now off doing his own gig, you can check him out at:

Hey Greg,

Ninja has been off doing his own gig for a couple of years now. But, I didn't notice/realize that he was no longer on the Sous Vide Everything videos until you pointed it out. From what I could tell, they started filming all of the Sous Vide Everything videos from Guga's house instead of their office about 5 months ago.

I did have the link to Ninja's Salty Tales channel in my first post, but it included his name instead of the gobbledy gook ending like Guga's and the link that you posted. Not sure how I got that link with his name in it. :)

No matter how you guys get to the pages, they are entertaining and a lot of fun to watch. They definitely spend a lot of money on meat doing their experiments, so you don't have to.

I love the one where they grind up the fast food burgers into a paste and use that for a marinade. Who would think to do that?

Yep,
I read your post to fast and missed the Ninja link. From what I can tell there was also a failing out between Ninja and Guga..

Yea the stuff they come up with is really good. What I really like is that they do side by side testing. So instead of just trying a something like a marinade one one steak, they use four different marinades and then no marinade. Many of the things have done have saved me tons of time, since I can see the results that they have done.

Anyways, if you are into Sous Vide, check out the channel.

Yeah, it does appear that there was something of a falling out, even though Guga claims that there wasn't (seems like he is trying to take the high road). Here is a little more about the split:

https://www.reddit.com/r/sousvide/comments/dvglcw/guga_explains_why_the_sous_vide_everything_videos/
https://www.reddit.com/r/sousvideeverything/comments/dsi616/anyone_have_any_info_on_the_falling_out_between/

Things happen though. Look at all of the splits with bands and other type of companies. Too bad, but life will go on for both of them, and maybe they will get back together down the road.

It would have been nice to have just a short video (don't need to make too much deal about it) or acknowledgement of him being gone and why. But, I would guess that most people really don't care that much. So, who am I to question how they are handling it I guess.
